Default Sportsman's New Photo Gallery: New Procedures for Posting Photos on the Forums

One of the things I got with the new software is a 3rd Party photo album scrip. It will allow you all to create albums of your photos here at Sportsman's. Members can view one anothers albums like on photobucket and you can port your photos into the forums for posting very easily.

The first step is to set up your album on the Photo Gallery. Click on the Link to it in the Sportsman's Map in the top Left corner of the page. It's kind of like a forum, so just follow the steps.

Once you have images loaded there, they are easily posted to the forums. Below the reply boxes you see the linked word "Images". Click on it and it will pull up a small box with thumbnails of your photos. Click on the photo you want to post in the thread and it'll do it for you.

Photos brought in with an IMG tag will remain at their size they were whereever they came from. I'm going to try to remedy that, it's not what we want.

Photos uploaded into our photo albums if they are yours can be brought into the forum by pressing the Images below

Click for larger version

Like that, but that one is a thumbnail.

Click on it and it will link you to the Sportsman's Photo hosting and allow you to see the full size version. That doesn't work like the lightbox jobs.

If you upload the photo through the forums by managing atatchments the light box will be active and it will work.

There is also a photo album that is part of the standard vB package that goes with your membership profile.

Basically, this new software has a crap load of places you can put a photo. That's why there are so many more permissions to go through.

The bad part is that it gets very grainy or at least that one did. Probably has more to do with the camera / picture setting.

Skip, is there any way you can link to your personal photo album from the images link at the bottom of the reply box? It makes you upload your pictures to two places if you want to post them in a thread. In my last thread from the 3-d shoot, I just posted them from my photobucket account. I understand that might not be what you want due to how wide some of them are, or is that ok?

Also, if I go to my personal album and try to add pictures to one of the groups, it gives me this message:

"rshunter, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

Also, I have a limit on the number of pictures I can put in my albums and I am getting low.
