Exclamation LKS trying to "OUST" on of our own!

Read all about it here...

http://www.hcfsclub.com/I%20Told%20Y...20Sullivan.doc

Seems the Current LKS leadership does NOT want OUR (the membership's ) wishes, thoughts, concerns or opinions to be voiced UNLESS they are the same as theirs!!! :banghead:

Well I for one refuse to :surrender2:

What makes it even worse is when this thing came up before, Mike Whelen Jr. posted in public that this was going to be handled "in house" in the Third..well it wasn't....it was brought up at a BOD meeting over the weekend, and BTW I KNOW Taylor voted against this along with one other BOD member as I understand it (GREAT Job Taylor)!!

It's sad an pathetic, when LKS members are tried to be silenced, even more so, because this the the US of A where WE have the RIGHT to freedom of speech, not to mention Terry only told the un-varnished truth........THEY (LKS leadership) seem to want to avoid it (the truth) at ALL COST.....

For those who may not Know Terry Sullivan is a 25+ YEAR member of the LKS and winner of the LKS Sportsman of the Year Award.......still the LKS leadership are TRYING TO KICK HIM OUT over his voicing his OWN OPINIONS......

It's a travesty, and I hope WE... the LKS membership can ban together, and let it be known WE won't stand for such tactics, and back-stabbing of our own.....

More on this here:

For your time in reading this rather long post....

THEY have managed to get the LKS forum on kyhunting.net shut down for posting/replies to KEEP THIS QUIET!!
For your time in reading this rather long post....

This mentality has got to stop!! This is very similar to many organization in Georgia! My way or the highway only divides hunters!

I would think it will stay up here!!

Thank you for your reply and support.

What (to me) makes it even worse is that we (the membership) were mislead and I think on purpose, as to this was "over" so as to NOT make a big stink about it, until they managed the "top secret BOD meeting" which btw did NOT take into account the member's wishes since again it was kept secret and we had been misled to think it was over.....

Another thing that "cracks me up" is the leadership by and large has NOTHING good to say about the KDFWR OR the RMEF but somehow think that THEY are above being questioned...pot calling the kettle black??

EVEN though the vast majority of the LKS membership fully supports the RMEF and the KDFWR......(some representation WE're getting???)

I take the LKS is very similar to our GON Network?? They too have had some issues as I am sure you have read here on Skips.

LKS= League of Kentucky Sportsmen (or it used to be an is still supposed to be) though now it seems rather obvious the current leadership wants it to be the "bird hunters and ,cervid ranchers association....which hate and oppose the RMEF/KDFWR and anything they ever try to so....

I have nothing against bird hunters or small game hunters at all, I do however think they are only a part of the Sportsmen/women of Ky. and should behave like it, NOT they are "it"....

THEY (the leaders in charge at this point) have avoided the vast decline of membership each and every year, and rather than to address the many problems voiced, would rather accuse the ones stating the problems AS "the cause" (not the solution) AS is the case here with Terry Sullivan, who I consider a very good friend not only to ME but to the Sportsmen /women of Ky...

In other words THEY do whatever they want to do, regardless of the membership's wishes and even VOTES.....and have in the past even went directly against BOD votes as well!!!

MANY of us are VERY upset and for a large majority of us, this is the "last straw"......We may soon see how the "KING" and his little (very small) group can manage without us AND our $$$$

Maybe THAT will change things so far NO amount of logic and talking has done anything, in THEIR own minds and little world they do NO wrong, WE need to adjust and LET them run things(ruin things is much more accurate)....OR get out of the way, I'm choosing the latter....

Thank you very much, looks like we'll need it to get the LKS back on track and actually working for the very Sportsmen it was established to represent......

I have seen some of the things you guys have had to deal with, hated to hear it.....seems like Leaders would 'step up' and make a real difference OR step down so maybe someone else would......

Oh that would make them REAL LEADERS, what was I "thinking"???:yikes:

I honestly fear the LKS "ship" is sinking and fast, while I've been accused of firing torpedoes at it to speed that up, it is 100% false, I call a spade a spade, and A cervid farm and "canned hunts" EXACTLY what they are......along with the majority of the membership, and have asked that their wishes and votes be honored.........IF that is "bad" for the LKS, well then I suppose I'm guilty.....Along with the other 95% or so of the LKS MEMBERSHIP.......

Guys, I think that it's important to note that the League does have a seventy one year history of good work, the present situation notwithstanding. As the first member to be thrown out of the League in 71 years is a bit embarassing. I'm not going to trash the League, though. I believe it has every hope of being a positive force for conservation in Kentucky. Like most things it's going over a rough patch. I'm not going to lie to you, I am pretty sore at some of the current leadership. My agita comes not from what they did to me, but from what they're doing to the League. The League will get along without Terry Sullivan, much the way I'll get along without them, should we not come to a meeting of the minds. The bigger issue is the loss to the sportsmen and women of Kentucky, should the League's leadership continue to drag it down this path to destruction. There is nothing sadder than wasted talent.

Terry,

It's still a crying shame.

When a group of people on the board including it's president band together to work against the conservation policies the membership has voted to support, it's time for a change in leadership. I just can't believe they are brazen enough to attempt to kick out members that they do not agree with and to appoint League Directors for the districts. District director selection is the province of the clubs in that district not the League Board. I'm sure the reason Dale Weddle showed up at the fall meeting was they had planned to kick Taylor and us out then. It was fortunate that Taylor made the meeting. He said Dale looked like he'd seen a ghost when he walked in.

I agree 100%!

Look back at what was done to Kent Cooper, and what direction once they "got away" with that, things have NOW headed...TOTAL disregard to the memberships wishes and even votes........failure to take ANY action on many of the Resolutions that were passed at the Conventions.... I could go on and on......and what they've done to Terry is only ONE more huge mistake, that they fail to realize OR acknowledge......
